Born in Oakland on January 19, 1934, Martha was one of 8 children blessed to Juan and Trinidad Sifuentes. She met the love of her life, Paul Sr., in elementary school and they would eventually marry after graduating McClymonds High School. They shared 60 years together, making their home in San Leandro with their 4 children.
