Since 1957, Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary in San Lorenzo has proudly served the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally established by E.J. and Jean Grissom, our funeral home in San Lorenzo was initially built on Hesperian Boulevard before moving to where it can be found today on Lewelling Boulevard, conveniently located near several cemeteries, including Lone Tree Cemetery, Mount Eden Cemetery, and All Saints Cemetery. Today, Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary continues to be one of the few family-owned and family-operated funeral homes in the San Francisco Bay Area, having been passed from the Grissom family to our own family in 1990. When you enter our San Lorenzo funeral home, our family will be waiting to greet yours in our spacious, timelessly decorated lobby. Our arrangement office provides you with a comfortable place to plan for your loved one’s care, while our family room offers a private place for your family to rest and reflect during services. Our chapel, with its beautiful vaulted ceilings and soft lighting, is designed for large services and more intimate gatherings alike, with enough space to hold up to 200 guests. As more and more families today are choosing cremation, we also offer a Memorial Cremation Ark, which creates a lovely, customizable way to showcase your loved one’s urn during their services. While we’ve kept the beauty and charm that our San Lorenzo funeral home is known for, we’ve also updated our facilities with modern amenities to suit the needs of today’s families, including a full audio and visual system.
