A major benefit to planning for your funeral ahead of time is being able to compare service costs, facilities, and merchandise. You can pre-plan a service without paying for it in advance.

Once you have done the research on the pre-planned services you would like, you can choose to pay for the services in advance, either in a lump sum or through payments.

Can my pre-planned arrangements be changed after I or my loved one pass away?

Surviving loved ones can only make changes if:

• your contract allows for changes
• the instructions are unclear or incomplete
• the contract has not been fully funded

A clearly written, fully paid for arrangement cannot be changed after you pass away.

Yes. Download and complete the Advanced Healthcare Directive Form. This is another way you can state your wishes and preferences for your service.
