Rudolph Mello
January 14, 1924 - May 8, 2017Rudolph “Rudy” Mello, 93, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017. The 11th child of Portuguese immigrants, Manuel and Virginia Mello, Rudy was born on January 14, 1924. Growing up in Oakland, Rudy was active in sports as one of CYO and McClymond High School’s star baseball players. Soon after, drafted during WWII, Rudy served in the European Theatre including but not limited to the Battle of the Bulge.
