In Loving Memory of Zenaida Gregorio Baraan

October 26, 1939 – June 1, 2025

Zenaida Gregorio Baraan, beloved mother, grandmother, nurse, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, in San Leandro, California, at the age of 85.

Zenaida was born on October 26, 1939, in Guadalupe, Makati, Rizal, Philippines and she lived her life with compassion, dedication, and grace. She was the cherished daughter of Nieves Lunasco and Inocentes Gregorio, and sister to the late Rogelio and Faustino Gregorio.

Zenaida’s lifelong commitment to healing and distinguished nursing career took her across the globe. After beginning a nursing career in Manila in 1962, she immigrated and finally settled in the United States in 1968. She retired from her nursing career at Fairmont Hospital in San Leandro in March 1999.

Zenaida married her first love, Restituto D. Baraan, Sr. in 1969 and together built a life full of love and family. In 1976, they settled in San Leandro, California, along with their three children: Restituto Jr., Rezena and Ryan. She lived in their home on Belvedere Avenue for nearly 5 decades.

Zenaida became a devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish and a choir member since 1976. She enjoyed singing and playing piano with the choir, many of whom became her family. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Restituto “Ted” D. Baraan Jr. (Marlou Aceret), Rezena “Neng” Aceret (Robert Aceret), Ryan Baraan (Lynnett Santos); and her grandchildren: Ro’ena, Robert Christopher, Reimius, Reilani, Evan, and Riley.

Zenaida now reunites in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Restituto D. Baraan Sr.; her parents, Nieves and Inocentes; and her brothers, Rogelio and Faustino.

She will be missed by all who know and loved her.
