William Silveira entered peacefully into rest on March 28, 2022. He was 70 years old.

Born in Oakland on June 17, 1951 to Gilbert Silveira and Thelma Hanlon. William worked as a truck driver for 20 years. 

He attended St. John's Catholic School until 8th grade and graduated from Arroyo High School.

His hobbies included gardening, collecting movies and music, coins and art.  He was a lifelong learner and enjoyed hanging out at the Emeryville Marina with his friends, most of whom were ship captains. He also enjoyed museums, whale watching, and educational, documentary programs such as National Geographic.

His spouse was Patrice Vahlick until their divorce.  He is preceeded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Thelma Silveira and two of his siblings, Kathryn (passed January 28, 2022) and James (passed May 20, 1973). He is surved by his child, James Silveira of Washington state, and step-daughter Sherrie Rickerson of Kansas. He is also survived by 2 grand children, Alex and Samantha, and his siblings Patricia Donnelly, Mark Silveira, and Diane Bold.
