William “Mark” Markovich entered peacefully into rest in Castro Valley, California on August 22, 2019, at the age of 99. He was born January 8, 1920 in Lansford, Pennsylvania to parents Frank Markovich and Anna Toncola.

Mark worked as an insurance salesman for Washington National for over 30 years, after serving in the US Navy for six years. He loved model railroading and painting.

Mark is survived by his children Maureen Shaw, Michael Markovich, Robert Markovich; grandson William Markovich; great grandson Roderick Bell; and brother Jack Markovich. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Thelma Iona Markovich; son Darryl Markovich; granddaughter Dawn Renee Lester; and siblings Teddy Markovich, Mary Markovich, and Helen Markovich.

A graveside service for Mark will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2019, at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave., Hayward, California. A wake will immediately follow.
