William Allen Ashley entered peacefully into rest in Hayward, California on February 15, 2020. He was 87 years old.

Born October 8, 1932 in Iowa Park, Texas to parents Grace and Fred Ashley, Allen worked as a carpenter for United Can Company for 35 years, after serving in the US Navy for 4 years. He loved reading, hunting, fishing and traveling, and was a lifetime member and past president of the Castro Valley Mineral & Gem Society.

Allen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie Jean Ashley; children Richard Ashley, Christopher Ashley (Ann McConville), Mitchell Ashley, and Tobi Ashley; grandchildren Jonathan Ashley, Sierra Ashley, Nathaniel Ashley, Jeremy Ashley; great grandson Jaden; sisters Betty Axup (Carmichael, CA), Carla Owen (West Monroe, LA); and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother David Ashley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary.
