Virgilio Reyes Canivel, Jr., entered peacefully into rest at home in Hayward, California on July 6, 2023. He was 74 years old.

Born February 5, 1949 in Candaba, Pampanga, Philippines to parents Virgilio Canivel, Sr. and Paz Reyes Canivel, Virgilio was known to friends and family as Jun or Junior. He graduated from Feati University in Manila, Philippines and went on to work in maintenance in the field of telecare health for 15 years. He loved listening to music, gardening and playing scrabble.

Virgilio is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Erlinda Canivel; children Raymond Canivel and Henry Canivel; siblings Bella Canivel Dizon, Daisy Canivel, Victoria Canivel Gumboc, John Canivel, Emmanuel “Manny” Canivel, Marilou Canivel Roque, and Deogracias “Dodie” Canivel; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Efren Canivel. Virgilio will be deeply missed.

Services for Virgilio will be held from 9-11am on July 20, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 264 E Lewelling Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA.
