Life Legacy

Victoria “Vicky” Rodriguez passed away in her home in San Lorenzo, CA, on February 15, 2017. After being diagnosed in January, she died of sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a degenerative brain disease that affects only one in one million people per year. She was 73.

Vicky was born on January 2, 1944, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to her parents Raul and Clemencia Robles. She emigrated to the United States in 1961 where she attended high school in San Francisco. While living in San Francisco, she met the love of her life Luis “Omar” Rodriguez at a dance at Club Fugazi. They were married in 1965 and moved to their first home in San Lorenzo in 1968. She became a U.S. citizen in 1977.

Vicky entered the real estate profession in 1979 and achieved a long and very successful career as one of the top real estate brokers in the San Francisco East Bay Area. She founded and owned Crossroads Real Estate Brokerage and worked in the real estate business until November 2016.

Vicky was an incredibly supportive, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In her spare time, she loved reading, cooking and knitting. She had a deep affection for animals and adopted many strays over the years. She went out of her way to help her loved ones, and through her limitless warmth and generosity became a highly respected person in the community and treasured friend. She was truly loved by all.

Vicky is survived by her husband, Luis Omar Rodriguez of San Lorenzo; her son, Omar Andres (Lisa) Rodriguez of Orinda; her daughter, Verna Renee (Miguel) Mosquera of Danville; her sister, Carmen (Andrew) Tardio of Redwood City; and five grandchildren, Milo and Nico Mosquera, and Luke, Marco and Elle Rodriguez. She is predeceased by her sister, Lucrecia Cipriani of Guatemala City.

Vicky’s life will be celebrated at a ceremony on February 19, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vicky’s life.
