Toni Scott “Mother Toni” passed away in Oakland, California on August 26, 2016. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 20, 1942 to parents; James Weldon Scott Sr. and Estralita (Matlock) Scott. She had 9 brothers and 6 sisters; the only surviving sibling is James Weldon Scott Jr. of New Orleans. In 1955 she moved to Los Angeles and attended Washington High School. In 1983 she move to the bay area and has lived in San Francisco and Oakland. She was affiliated with The City of Refuge United Church of Christ, where a memorial service will be held on October 1, 2016 at 11:00 am 8400 Enterprise Way, Oakland, Ca. 94621.
