Sylvia Pearl Belmán Rodriguez entered peacefully into rest in San Jose, California on October 13, 2021. She was 72 years old.

Known to friends and family as Chiva, Stister, and Sly, Sylvia was born December 28, 1948 in Torrington, Wyoming to parents Angela and Jesse Belmán. She worked as a preschool teacher for over 40 years, and loved spending time with family, singing, dancing, watching true crime shows, reading, Facebook and camping.

Sylvia is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Salvador Rodriguez; children Jessie Belmán, Carmen Ramirez-Farthing, Yvonne Hernandes-Ramirez, and Pedro Rodriguez; grandchildren Carlos, Joshua Sr., Jessica, Anthony, Halie, Sommer, Hannah, Andres, and Ariana; great grandchildren Anicia, Mia’Belle, Jesse Jr., Isabella, London and Joshua Jr., sister Monica; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Edward, Phil and Felicita. Sylvia will be greatly missed.

Services for Sylvia will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA 94580.

Born December 28, 1948 in Wyoming to parents Angela and Jesse Belman, Sylvia worked as a preschool teacher for 40 years. She is survived by many loving family members and friends and will be deeply missed.
