Susan Kay Philastre entered peacefully into rest in Hayward, CA on January 12, 2018. She was 69 years old. Born in Livermore, CA on April 20, 1948,

Sue was raised in Hayward, CA where she attended Mt. Eden High School. She worked in sales and administration at PACO Pumps in Oakland for over 25 years. Devoted to her family, Sue enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, shopping, traveling, camping and watching the SF 49ERS and SF Giants. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and loved the color pink.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Rudy Philastre Jr. She will be missed by her loving children, Gabe Philastre, and Sara Oakman, daughter-in-law Cristina Garcia Philastre and son-in-law Steven Oakman. Sue also leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren; Isabella, Daniella, Elijah, Joshua and Gabriel as well as nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her brothers Jim King and Dan King. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nadine King, stepmother Juanita King, and sisters Terry King and Barbara Preszler.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:00pm at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA with a lunch reception to follow.

Flowers are welcome and donations can be made to the American Heart Association or UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
