Sonia Gandionco Gotingco, aged 84, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2023, in San Ramon, CA. She was born in Cebu City, Philippines, on July 6, 1939, to Engr. Rodolfo Carratala Gandionco and Aurora Bomediano Neri, infusing immediate joy and laughter into the world. Sonia pursued her education at St. Theresa's College and the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.

In 1957, Sonia married Vicente Gotingco, and their bond was inseparable from that moment on. Sonia and Vicente celebrated over 66 years of marriage and raised three children together. Sonia was a devoted mother who instilled values of integrity and discipline in her children, inspiring them to excel in their pursuits. Family always took precedence for Sonia, and this principle was paramount in her life.

In recent years, she received unwavering care at home from her loving husband, Vicente. She is survived by her husband Vicente, her three devoted children: Aurora and her husband John Norton, Antonio, and Vincent and his wife Loretes and siblings, Rodolfo Gandionco Jr, Dante Gandionco and Milagros Rita. Sonia is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and their spouses, John Benedict and Judy Gotingco, Vincent Gotingco, Vinson Gotingco, Bessie Gotingco, Loren Gotingco, Sean and Kelly Norton and Joel and Christine Norton; great-grandchildren, Xavier Gotingco, Alex Gotingco, William Norton, Harvey Norton and Ramsey Norton.

Sonia was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Blessie L. Gotingco and siblings, Vicente Gandionco and Merle Arceo.

Family and friends are invited to gather for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Monday, October 9, 2023 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2601 San Ramon Valley Blvd., San Ramon. Visitation will be 10 am to mass time. Sonia will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, 1240 N. Livermore Ave., Livermore.
