RUTH ELIZABETH BRENNAN entered peacefully into rest on May 29, 2018. Ruth was born to Joseph and Agnes Nurre in Bloomington, Indiana on November 9, 1922. The youngest of five children, Ruth loved growing up in Bloomington, and treasured her summers with her family in Odin, Michigan. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation School in Washington D.C., and Manhattanville College in New York City.  While living in New York, Ruth enjoyed many cultural pursuits including the symphony and the opera. She then came to Los Angeles, where she met Bill Brennan. They married in Santa Monica in 1956, and lived in several California locations afterward, coming to San Leandro in 1970.  Ruth was devoted to her family and her faith. She loved music, history, birds and the sky.  She is survived by her daughter Mary Brennan and son-in-law Brian Ullensvang of El Cerrito, numerous nieces and nephews and treasured friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1604 Manor Blvd., San Leandro.  Ruth will be laid to rest with Bill at San Joaquin Cemetery in Stockton.
