Ruby Azarraga Magbanua entered peacefully into rest in Union City, California on December 29, 2019. She was 82 years old.

Born July 26, 1937 in Iloilo City, Philippines to parents Ernesto and Lydia Azarraga, Ruby was the eldest of nine children. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and following graduation, she worked as a teacher for 30 years and a caregiver for 15. She loved gardening.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 55 years, Arlene Magbanua; children Ernest, Elmer, Arby, May Yen, Ric John and Queen Ann; grandchildren JP, JR, Jazzer, Janna, Chantal, Prince and Apple; great grandchild Venice; and siblings Rosemarie, Dennis, Carmencita, Julie and Roxas. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ronillo, Scarlet, and Quirino.

Visitation for Ruby will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with services to follow at 1:00 PM, also at Grissom’s. Ruby will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Memorial Park in The Philippines.
