Ruben was a wonderful, hardworking, respectful man. He was a pillar of the Dayao clan, a loving husband, father, father in law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved God.

He was a vibrant story teller. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, was a big fan of the 49ers, Giants, Warriors, and Sharks.

Many messages saying, "he was like a father to me, he was a second father to me, he stepped in when I needed a father figure, he was like my brother, he was a huge blessing to our family, he was like the grandpa I never had, because of him we are here in the USA, he was the epitome of class all the way" have been received.

Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and Benjamin Dayao and by his siblings Honorio, Jose,  Franklin, and Amanda.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Violette (Leng), his children Dorothy and Ruben Jr., his son in law Xavier Velazquez, his grandchildren Cielo and Sol, his siblings Delinia, Gomer, Henry, Leo, Willen, and Mailon and their children and grandchildren.

His family is comforted knowing how much he deeply loved everyone and that he was cherished by all. He is resting in peace with his dearly departed parents and siblings, entertaining them with stories and his dancing.

It is not goodbye, only so long. Heaven will now have the most beautiful garden.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of the faithful departed, Ruben, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
