Born on August 12, 1955, in San Francisco, California, Roxann Simon was the daughter of the late Herbert Peter Simon and Mary G. Simon. She attended elementary, middle, and high school in both San Francisco, California, and Lake Charles, Louisiana, ultimately graduating from Lake Charles High School in 1974. During her school years, Roxann worked in the family grocery business, Simon’s Grocery #1 and Simon’s Grocery #2, which also included a washeteria service and snack stands.

In the mid-1970s, Roxann returned from Louisiana to California. She then worked at AAA Insurance Company in San Francisco and later dedicated 18 years to the State of California, holding positions in insurance and business administration. Roxann earned an associate’s degree in business administration from Laney College in Oakland, California.

Roxann found joy in spending time at Lake Merritt Park in Oakland, California, and visiting family in San Francisco and Pacifica, California. She had a love for music and cherished memories of her childhood pet cat, Minnie.

Roxann is survived by her daughter, Christy Rose St. Mary; her son, Joseph Marco St. Mary; her brothers, Patrick Simon (Cathy), Alceede Simon, and Herbert P. Simon, Jr.; her sisters, Mary Scheunemann (Billy) and Judy Simon; her stepmother, Jean; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family also acknowledges Ms. Christine Ellis of Oakland, California, as Roxann’s extended family sister and expresses their gratitude for her friendship and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Peter Simon; her mother, Mary Simon (Richard); her brothers, Michael Simon, Ronald Simon, and Terrance (Pete) Simon; and her sisters, Rose Simon, Francine Simon, and Elizabeth Simon.

The memorial is scheduled for Tuesday April 22, 2025, from 9AM - 12PM.

9-10 is a family gathering, with the actual service beginning at 10AM and concluded by 11.30 PM.
