Ronald Guest passed away on Aug. 16, 2024, at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta, his three sons Robert, Richard (Salina) and Larry (Terri) as well as four grandchildren, Leah, Audrey (Austin), Annie and Joseph, and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Lennon. He was predeceased by his daughter Lori and his daughter-in-law Robin.

Ronald was born in Oakland, the third son to Charles and Irene Guest on March 13, 1935. While his brothers Chuck (Betty) and Wayne (Irene) moved out of the area, he lived his entire life in San Leandro. He served in the National Guard Reserves from 1955 to 1962 and worked at General Motors and NUMMI as an accountant for over forty years. He was a regular volunteer at Saint Leander’s church, serving in the Alter and Prayer community groups. He recently celebrated fifty years of sobriety through the AA program.

Known as Papa to his grandchildren, he was known for his love of ice cream, frozen Snickers bars, and Disneyland. Ron loved his Oakland teams, and previously had season tickets for both the Raiders and the A’s. In their younger years, he and Roberta loved spending weeks away, enjoying whale season on Maui.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Leander Catholic Church.
