Rebecca “Becky” Louise Garcia entered peacefully into rest in Oakland, California on October 27, 2019. She was 61 years old.

Born June 6, 1958 in Oakland, California to parents Tillie and Robert Bustillos, Rebecca graduated from Tennyson High. She worked at Casper’s for over 7 years. She loved bowling, crocheting blankets for family and friends, and baking – she was famous for her chocolate chip bars.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George Duran Garcia. She and George had no children together, but her husband had two whom she loved so dearly, Leona and Michael. However, everyone knew their children were their beloved dogs, Chiparra, Sherry and Kiko. She was preceded in death also by her father Roberto Bustillos and stepfather Tony Tavernier.

Rebecca was survived by her grandchildren Xazier, Adrian, Giovani, Jayden, Jasmine, Michelle, Mikayla, and Nick; great grandchildren Aleanna, Xavier, and Analeya; mother Tillie Tavernier; siblings Angelo Bustillos, Ruthie Ibarra, Dina Riveira, and Marie Tavernier; step-siblings Lisa, Doreen, and Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. She was the best Tia in the world.

A Memorial Service for Rebecca will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with a reception to follow until 4:00 PM, also at Grissom's.
