Ravi P. Malur was born in Bangelore, India on May 16, 1956, to Parthasarathy and Rama Malur (Rama). He passed away in San Jose, California, on April 14, 2018 at the age of 61.

A hotel manager for over 30 years, Ravi enjoyed spending time with his family, watching movies and sports (especially football and basketball), eating Thai food, and mathematics. He will be missed by his parents Parthasarathy and Rama Malur; siblings Uma Murthy (Raghu) and Bacchu Malur; niece Niki Murthy and nephew Neel Murthy.
