Ramen Prasad was born to the late Mahendra Prasad and Gaura Wati in Tavua, Fiji on February 4, 1957 and was known to be a model son. On top of tending to his family’s farm every day, he was a Dux of his high school at Natabua High School and Quiz Captain of his high school quiz team.

Ramen pursued his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting at the University of South Pacific in Suva, Fiji. After graduation, Ramen accepted an accounting position at Price Waterhouse in 1979. He then progressed to the role of Accounting Manager at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.

Ramen met the love of his life, Nalini Prasad in 1981.They married on April 2, 1983 and had twin daughters, Ritika and Nitasha, the following year. Five years later, he and his family migrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where they had their third daughter, Nalisha, in 1989.

Ramen worked as an Audit Manager for the County of San Mateo and was respected and admired by his colleagues. In 2012, after more than 20 years of service to the County, he retired at the age of 55.

In his personal life and years of retirement, he loved listening to music, doing crosswords, watching comedy and action television and movies, playing tabla, gardening, rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, cooking, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Ramen is survived by his loving wife, daughters, and siblings, and will forever be remembered as a man of many talents, integrity, intellect, strength, and compassion.
