Pilar Giron Yuzon entered peacefully into rest in San Ramon, California on December 17, 2019. She was 86 years old.
Born September 13, 1933 in Manila, Philippines to parents Lagrimas F. and Jose R. Giron, Pilar worked as a seamstress for Lilli Ann for over 30 years, after attending 2 years of college. She was a member of the United Poets Laureate International, and loved gardening, cooking, shopping and traveling. She immigrated to the USA in 1971 and dedicated her life to her family, raising 5 children.
Pilar was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin R. Yuzon; daughter Oliva Yuzon; and siblings Blanquita Sarmiento, Gloria Valenzuela, Arturo Giron, and Erlinda Bayuga. She is survived by four children and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation for Pilar will take place from 2:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with services to begin at 7:00 PM, also at Grissom's. Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 27, 2019 at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA. Pilar will be laid to rest at Rolling Hills Cemetery, 4100 Hilltop Drive, Richmond, CA 94803.
