Life Legacy

Patricia (Trish) Tripepi passed away on March, 27, 2025.  Born in Cleveland, OH, she grew up in Willoughby and graduated from Willoughby South High in 1975, where she was involved in a wide variety of clubs and activities.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Bowling Green State University in 1979, then returned to school to get her secondary teaching credential from Cleveland State University.  Trish taught English for two years at Villa Angela Academy in East Cleveland before moving to northern California in 1990, where she loved working as a Language Arts teacher for 32 years at James Logan High School in Union City. In that time, she served as American Literature team leader, Early Assessment Program (EAP) Coordinator, School-to-Career Coordinator, Academic Literacy Coach, and in many other capacities.  She also was a founding teacher of the school’s Electronic Media Production Academy and Expository Reading and Writing course. Following retirement in 2021, Trish volunteered for the Make A Wish Foundation as a wish granter and document/social media proofreader, and as a recipe tester for America’s Test Kitchen.  She also was an organizer for her high school 50-year class reunion. Trish enjoyed reading, baking, cooking authentic Italian recipes, and, most of all, spending time with her sisters and their families.  She was preceded in death by her partner of 29 years, John (Jay) Jardin,  mother Lou Kaiser Tripepi, father Pat Tripepi, nephew Adam Duke, niece Kasey Berent, maternal grandparents Mildred and Milton Kaiser, and paternal grandparents Pasquale and Francesca Tripepi.  She is survived by her sisters Kathy (Joe) Tripepi-Bova, Barb (Dan) Berent, Laura (Jeff) Adams and Annette (Rick) Arcaro; nephews Patrick (Rebecca) Arcaro, Nick Berent, Wesley Bova, Corey Bova; nieces Ashley (Jake) Howe and Erica Berent; great-nieces Sophia Arcaro, Kennedy Howe and Reese Howe ; great-nephews Hudson and Charlie Arcaro, her beloved pit bull terrier Kane, and many loving (and loved) cousins, in-laws and friends.

Memorial Services will be held in California at Grissom's Chapel and Mortuary on Saturday, Apil 12th at 10am PT.  Another Memorial Service will be held in Ohio at a later date.

In accordance with her wishes, Trish’s cremated remains will be used to plant and nurture a tree. Donations in Trish’s memory can be made to Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area or Make-A-Wish, Northeast Ohio Region.
