Patricia M. Brown

March 19, 1929 - April 21, 2020

Life Legacy

Patricia "Pat" Brown passed away April 21st, 2020 of natural causes, just a month after turning 91, surrounded by her family. Pat was born at home in Lancaster, California on March 19, 1929 as Patricia Marie Willey to her parents Levi Dow  & Susan Annette Willey. Pat was the youngest of 6 children whom all preceded her in death.

At age 16, Pat was working in her parents' grocery store in Oakland, when a Marine came into the store. It was Conrad Victor "Vic" Brown. They met, dated and married a year later on October 27, 1946. Nine months and two days later, their first child was born. Pat and Vic living in San Lorenzo, California,  had four children; Jimmy, Vicki, Gary And Susan.

Pat was widowed in January 1996 when Vic passed away, short of their 50th Anniversary. April of that year, while in a grieving class, she met Tom Murray. Pat and Tom were beloved friends from that time to the present, celebrating 24 years of companionship. Pat and Tom enjoyed dancing, A's baseball games and theatrical plays.

In July of 2009, Pat's son Jimmy died at home with his mom, under hospice care. Jim passed just short of his 62nd birthday.   

Pat worked at Marshall Steel Cleaners and then as a receptionist at an Optometrist office for 23 years. Pat volunteered with the Right to Life organization, Friends for Peace and Justice, she was a member of the St. John the Baptist church Parish Council under Fr. Mallon. She was a member of the St. Gerard Woman's club, becoming a president in 1991 through 1992. Pat was the editor of the St. Gerard News letter called the Majellan for so many years, she couldn't remember when she started. She held bi-monthly prayer groups in her home for many years.

Pat loved well, laughed often and lived every day of her life. She will truly be missed and live long in the hearts of her family. Daughter Vicki & husband Robert Barney, son Gary Brown and daughter Susan & husband Wulf Bieschke. Seven grandchildren -, Kari, Jeffrey, Christopher, Joshua, Leeza, Samuel and Daniel.  And six great - grandchildren - Jaden, Tanner, Emma, Brynn, Nevaeh and Gracie.
