Orville “Papa” Maloon entered peacefully into rest at his San Leandro home on January 3, 2017. He was 100.

Born in Plainview, Texas on October 20, 1916, Orville was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served His country 4 years while in the Army during WWII. Orville was a longtime member of: Friendly Connections Seniors, Knights of Columbus, S.I.R.S. and Skirts and Flirts of San Leandro.

Orville is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Barbara, children: Dennis, Steve (Lorraine), Matt (Teresa) and Mary Crume (Al), grandchildren: Amy Toste, Dan Maloon, Katie Bruce, Natalie Horner, David Maloon and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers John and Harold. Orville will be fondly remembered as a man who always put others first. Services will be private.
