Nancy Gonzalez Haigh, 79, of San Lorenzo passed away on October 27, 2016. She was born September 27, 1937 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, daughter of Juan and Clotilde Gonzalez. She held a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in New York City and a master’s degree in political science from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On August 19, 1965, she married Roger William Haigh, Sr. in Astoria, New York. After marriage, they resided in Wheeling, West Virginia, then Waitsfield, Vermont, and most recently in San Lorenzo.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Roger, and their three sons: Roger William Jr, married to Jennifer, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Paul Matthew, married to Caroline, of Barre, Vermont; and Daniel Peter, married to Aimee, of San Lorenzo, California. She is also survived by her grand children Andrew, Benjamin, Xavier, Eliana, and William and her sister, Doris Gonzalez Stratmann of Riverhead, New York.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers US Army Lieut. Juan Manuel (Johnny) Gonzalez and US Army Major Francisco (Paco) Gonzalez, as well as her granddaughter Abigail Amanda Haigh.

The visitation will be at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd. in San Lorenzo on Thursday November 3rd from 5:00-9:00PM with a vigil at 7:00PM. The funeral liturgy will be on Friday, November 4th at 10:30AM at St. John’s Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd. in San Lorenzo with an interment after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward
