Mildred B. Robinson passed away peacefully at home in Pleasanton, California on July 9, 2020. She was 90 years old.

Born November 19, 1929 in Carolina, West Virginia to parents Rebecca and William Brown, Mildred (Milley) was the sixth of seven children growing up in nearby Fairmont, graduating from Dunbar High School. She graduated from West Virginia State University in 1952 to start a 31-year career as a licensed vocational nurse. Mildred worked at a hospital and taught swimming, tennis, archery, dancing, and exercise routines for the YWCA. Eventually, she took a commission as a second lieutenant in the Army Medical Specialist Corps.

In 1960 Mildred met Captain Curtis B. Robinson of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. They married that year and started a family during their Army tour of duty. Mom and Dad travelled throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe. In 1971 they transferred to Dad’s final post as Lieutenant Colonel and Commandant of Camp Parks in Dublin before retiring nearby in Pleasanton. Mom enjoyed gardening, painting, and crafts while still travelling the world with Dad. Sadly, Dad passed away in 1996. Mom continued her love of travel and family visits with her children as companions. Her last trip was a winter Yellowstone wolf safari in February 2020. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Mildred is survived by her children Curtis Jr., David, Paul, Diann, and her granddaughter by David, Amelia. She has many loving relatives and good friends across the country as well.
