Marilyn Martinez was born on January 28, 1940 in Oakland, CA to proud parents Josephine Dias and Manuel Martinez.

She attended San Leandro High School.

Marilyn met, and later married, John D. Mena and they two of them spent the next fifty-eight years together. To this union was born three children (coupled with two stepchildren).

Mrs. Mena was a great waitress for the better part of thirty years and she loved painting and sewing. In addition, she loved her dogs: J.D., Perro and JoJo.

Marilyn Mena passed away on December 24, 2017 in Hayward, CA.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, John; 2 children and their spouses, Laurie Mena Tenorio (Joe) and Lisa Mena Martinez (Jose);  2 stepchildren and one spouse, John R, Mena (Alicia) and Patricia Strom; 14 grandchildren, Danielle Vigil, Allen Mena, J.J. Tenorio, Melissa Tenorio, Rachel Tenorio, Joey Mena, Brianna Martinez, Ben Martinez, Christina Lozano, Raymond Mena, Jessica Gallegos, Kimberly Ashworth, Gina Marie Brown and Antonette Isaacson; 18 great granchildren, Anhelica, Adrianna, Eddie, Anastacia, Noah, Javier, Alexis, Raymond, Nathaniel, Cecilia, Peter, Kalia, Rachel, Matthew, Selena, Scott, Alyssa and Neveah.

Her son Edward Mena and brother Manuel Martinez preceded her in death.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, sister, Nana and great-grandmother.
