Margaret Jean McPartland

Margaret was born to James L. Conway and Agnes Mullen Conway in Haynes, North Dakota.

She was the second of five children, James L. Conway, Jr., Mary Ellen Conway, Thomas W. Conway and John S (Jack) Conway.

Margaret graduated from Moorhead State Teachers College in Moorhead, MN. She met and married James D. McPartland on August 25, 1943. When the war ended James and Margaret moved to Oakland, CA where James joined the Oakland Police Department. Margaret and James moved to San Leandro, CA, where Margaret was a substitute school teacher for the San Leandro Unified School District. Margaret and James raised two daughters Patricia A. McNichol and Mary M. Williams. In 1977 Marge and Jim retired and moved to Arnold, CA where they played golf and Marge began her passion with quilting.

Preceding her in death was her husband James of 46 years, her brothers James, Jack and her sister Mary Ellen and her parents James and Agnes, her granddaughter Colleen Mary Wall, her great granddaughter Meagan Michelle Wall, her grandson James T. Brown and her son in law John McNichol.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia A. McNichol and Mary M. Williams (Kenneth Williams), granddaughter Christine M. Wall, Grandsons Timothy C. Williams (Judy Erlandson), John M. Williams (Kellie Williams), Great Grandson Michael Wall, Great Granddaughters Morgan M. Williams, Lindsay M. Williams an Great Grandson Bigby Williams.

A Memorial Vigil will be held on Monday June 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Grissom’s Mortuary in San Lorenzo, CA. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Lorenzo, CA.
