Magdalena “Nena” Frias entered peacefully into rest following a courageous battle with cancer on February 10, 2017.  She was 59 years old.
 
One of 11 children blessed to Rodolfo and Maria (Engracia) Gonzalez, Nena was born on July 20, 1957 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico.  She met and married the love of her life, Jerry.  Together they would share 34 years of marriage and raise their 3 beloved sons.  Nena worked in data collection for over a decade before her retirement.  She enjoyed travel, interior design, cooking, gardening and crafts.  Nena was a devoted mother whose greatest joy came from her family.  She will be deeply missed.
 
Nena is survived by her husband, Jerry Frias of San Ramon; sons, Omar Frias, Eric Frias and his wife, Katharine Mettelmann Frias and Sergio Frias; siblings, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Mario Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Martha Gonzalez, Gema Gonzalez, Ramon Gonzalez and Blanca Gonzalez; grandson, Giovanni Michael Frias; numerous nieces, nephews, loving extended family and cherished friends.
 
Visitation for Nena will be 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.  The vigil service begins at 7 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church, 11555 Shannon Ave., Dublin.  Burial will be private for the siblings only.
