Louise Angelina Devencenzi Giachino passed away peacefully at the young age of 93. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and friend who devoted her life to fulfilling everyone’s needs before her own. She was born in Alameda, the daughter of Theresa and William Devencenzi. She attended Alameda High School and met her husband Henry Giachino in Alameda where they married and built their lives together, raising 6 children. The family moved to San Lorenzo in 1958.

Louise is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Annette, Chris, Terry, Gail (Pete), Mark, and Dean (Gloria). She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Chase, Rachel (Dimitri), Bonnie and Graysen, and her step-grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron and Amy. She joins her late husband Henry, her sister Nonie, her son-in-law Mark, and her parents in Heaven.

Louise was a devout Catholic her entire life. Her family was her greatest joy and she showed her love by constantly cooking homemade meals and gathering everyone around the table. She loved being in her kitchen or garden, entertaining family and friends, dancing, sports, old movies, Westerns, casinos, and word puzzles. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience and selfless love for all she was close to. She will be dearly missed by all her family, her life-long friends, and neighbors.

A visitation for Louise will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd, San Lorenzo. A vigil service will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Light refreshments will be served immediately following in the reception room. 

Louise will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in San Pablo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
