Loretta Jean Ferrier was born on February 5, 1937 in Paris, Texas to Robert Syme and Virginia (Smith) Ferrier.
She received a Bachelors in Psychology from Antioch W. West in 1975 and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology from the Institute Transpersonal Psychology in 1979. She was a licensed psychotherapist.
Loretta worked as an administrative assistant in the Sociology and Anthropology department at San Jose State University in California from 1963 to 1965. She worked as an administrative assistant in the Exobiology department at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, from 1965 to 1967. She was the founder and director of Society Overweight Studies in San Jose from 1974 to 1979. She was a founder of Concresence-Networking in San Francisco, 1981. She was an advisor to the California Board of Directors Business Executives for National Security from 1987 to 1991. She was a lecturer for human potential workshops since 1973, as well as a guest speaker for television and radio.
Loretta was listed as a noteworthy Psychotherapist by Marquis Who's Who.
She was an ordained minister for the Church of Tzaddi in 1978. She was member forming committee for Hunger Project, San Francisco from 1977 to 1978. She was a member of Commission on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, State of California in 1982. She was also an advisor for the Ark Foundation at Ark Communication Institute in Lafayette, California, since 1987.
Loretta loved sailing, walking, reading, needlepoint, and working with animals. She will be greatly missed.
