Lois DeEtte "Dee Dee" Yetter, 84, of San Francisco, CA, passed away on December 7, 2023. She was born on June 7, 1939, in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Samuel and Loretta Thompson.
Dee Dee was a determined and feisty woman, who faced the challenges of life with unwavering strength. Despite being born with Cerebral Palsy and being told she would never have children, she defied the odds and married the love of her life, Paul Yetter on September 23, 1963. The two were together until Paul’s passing on November 02, 2006, 43 years in love. Together, they successfully raised two sons, Russell and Keith Yetter. Dee Dee's love and dedication to her family knew no bounds.
Wheelchair-bound in her later years, and always fiercely independent, Dee Dee lived life on her own terms until the time of her passing. She was a woman of strong opinions and never hesitated to express them. She cared deeply for those around her and touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion.
In her free time, Dee Dee found solace and joy in her hobbies of cross stitch and embroidery. She poured her creativity and love into each stitch, creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by her loved ones.
A memorial service to celebrate Dee Dee’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Olivet Gardens of Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. The services will be conducted by Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary, who are assisting the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Shriner’s Hospital who so carefully took care of Dee Dee in her early years; a fitting tribute to her legacy.
Dee Dee is survived by her loving sons Russell Yetter and Keith Yetter, their wives Angela and Heather, respectively, and her cherished granddaughters Kallista, Audrey, Elise, and the many four-legged children they each had.
Dee Dee will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strength and determination, and love will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
