Leon Totch Walters went to be with the Lord at age 72 on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Oakland, CA.

Leon was born on January 13, 1948 in Macon County, Georgia to Danny and Bessie Walters (both preceded him in death). Leon grew up in Akron, Ohio where he attended and graduated from South High School. Leon was inducted into the Akron South High School Hall of Fame for football. Shortly after graduating high school, he moved to New York City and lived there for 17 years. In 1981, Leon relocated to Oakland, California where he met and married Candy Maryam Davis. From that union came two children, and more than 38 years of a loving marriage.

Leon loved the Lord and was a devoted man of God. He became a member of Shiloh Christian Fellowship in 1981. He was an active member as a Youth Leader, Counselor, Deacon, Head Porter, and had a leadership role in the Children’s Ministries, Harvest Festival and Shiloh’s kitchen committee.

Leon had a servant’s heart, generous spirit and loved providing for his family. Candy, his wife, lovingly referred to him as Mr. Wonderful. He was a good listener, patient and gave good advice (wisdom) and was a lover of the truth. He genuinely loved people and was a tremendous blessing to everyone he met.

Leon owned Leon Walters Painting and Decorating for more than 35 years. He most recently worked at Kaiser Oakland Medical Center.

Leon enjoyed playing tennis, riding his Harley motorcycle, exercising at the YMCA, roller skating and leading an active lifestyle. He loved his wife, children and family with all of his heart.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Candy Walters; and his children Shellaree Twitty, Shetoria (Richard) Bell, Connie (Darran) Henry, King Totch (Tiffany) Walters, Tasha (Darren) Wallace, Troy King, Roshan Davis, Divine Walters, Gabriel Leon Walters, Rachel Leann Walters and a host of grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
