Lawrence "Larry"  "Ben" John Benavidez entered into rest in Hayward on August 30, 2017. He was 65 years old.

Born in Oakland on August 29, 1952 to Louis & Virginia Benavidez, Lawrence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, godfather and uncle. Growing up he attended San Lorenzo High School. Lawrence took great pride in his family and was a proud veteran serving 6 years in the U.S Marine Corp. fighting in the Vietnam War and was awarded medals for The National Defense, & Rifle Marksman. He retired from Delta Airlines after 35 years with the company and was an avid fan of the Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants & the Oakland Raiders.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Rebecca Benavidez; longtime friend & companion, Donna Youell; children, Amber and Michael Bowen & Louis and Monica Benavidez; grandchildren, Domenic and Gabriella Bowen & Mia and Lorenzo Benavidez; goddaughter & Nino to, Danelle Fenton; siblings, Veronica "Roni" & Dan Fenton and favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Louis & Virginia Benavidez and brother Ralph Benavidez.

Memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30am at St John’s Catholic Church 264 E. Lewelling Blvd. San Lorenzo, Ca. 94580

Burial will be on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1:30pm with full military honors by the Marine Corp. Honor Guard at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, Ca 95620
