Lawrence Delphene Abeyta

February 23, 1949 - April 10, 2026

Life Legacy

Lawrence was born in Durango, Colorado into the family of Edward and Sadie Abeyta.  He and his twin, Leonard, were the twelfth born children in their family of 14 children.  The Abeytas settled permanently in the Bay Area in 1952.

Lawrence is survived by Fran Wright, his girlfriend of 35 years and her family.  He and Fran  shared a wonderful life together. Lawrence is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Brittany Abeyta and three grandsons: Vincent, Aiden and Luke.  Lawrence has five surviving siblings: Annie, Marcella, Sadie, Rick (& wife Beatrice), and Leonard.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was a generous and beloved friend to many.  He was a proud to have served his country in Vietnam. He enjoyed wrenching on cars, woodworking, sketching and jewelry making.  Most of all, though, he enjoyed playing the guitar and jamming with friends and family.  In later years he was part of a band that played at family and friends’ celebrations.
