Kimberly Valdivia entered peacefully into rest on April 17, 2019, one day prior to her 60th birthday. She was 59 years old.
Born in Oakland on April 18, 1959, Kim was one of two daughters blessed to Wallace and Donna Tavares. She graduated from Moreau High School in 1977 and went on to attend Santa Clara University and Cal State Hayward for her Bacherlor’s degree. Kim was a systems analyst, beginning her career in the Nuclear Division of GE before venturing into self-employment. She was an active sports fan, cheering on the Oakland A’s and was proud to have attended a Super Bowl. Above all, Kim loved her family. She enjoyed game nights, going to the movies and spending time with those close to her. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Kim is survived by her devoted son and daughter in law, Tyler & Melissa Valdivia; her beloved granddaughter, Madison; sister, Paula Davis and many cherished extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Kim will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
