Joven Demetrio Dela Vega entered peacefully into rest in San Lorenzo, California on February 6, 2023. He was 84 years old.

Born July 13, 1938 in the Philippines to parents Libertad and Lauro Dela Vega, Joven retired after 28 years of honorable service in the US Navy. Known as “Papa Joven” to family and friends, Joven loved gardening, fishing, listening to music and watching old movies. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Ofelia Dela Vega; children Joy, Boyven, Sweet, Honey, Christian and Kevin; grandchildren Tiffany (Ilya), Maverick, Vinny, Megan (Joseph), Odezza, Yvette, Ysabelle, Miguel, Camille, Jaron and Gillian; great grandchildren Emmy and LouLou; and many other loving family members and friends. Joven will be deeply missed.

Visitation for Joven will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 2 – 7 PM at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with a Vigil to begin at 6 PM. Services will begin at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA.
