Joseph Deral Murphy passed away February 25, 2019 at the age of 101. He was born February 22, 1918 in Morgan Fort, Colorado to parents Grace and Lester Murphy.

Joseph worked as a cabinet maker for the San Lorenzo Unified School District for 40 years. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and trout fishing.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Martha E. Murphy; children Jay Deral Murphy (Madeline), Joyce Ann Graves (Stephen), Lawrence E. Murphy (Cheryl), and Linda Sharon Murphy (Catherine Archbold); grandchildren Jennifer Smidebush, Jeffery Murphy, and Darel Murphy (Melissa); great grandchildren Zachary Smidebush, Jackson Murphy, and Katherine Murphy; 3 nieces; and 5 nephews.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to SOS Meals on Wheels of Alameda County.
