Jose Puga Avelar entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro, California on January 25, 2020. He was 76 years old. 

Born March 28, 1943 in Mexico to parents Carmen and Antonio Avelar, Jose worked for the parks and recreation department for over 35 years. He is survived by many loving family members and friends. 

Visitation for Jose will be held from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA.
