Jose Samonte “Pe Ping” Ocampo entered peacefully into rest at his San Lorenzo home on May 9, 2017. He was 79 years old.
Born in the Philippines on August 14, 1937 to Sotero L. and Albina S. Ocampo, Jose was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Sierra MADRE Institute, Guzman Institute of Technology, National Radio School and the Institute of Technology. Jose worked for 40 years as an Auto Mechanic. He enjoyed Motorcycling, Hum Radio, Singing and listening. He was awarded the Tanay Club Father of the year 2012. Jose was treasured by all who knew him and will forever be deeply missed.
Jose is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lourdes Custodio Ocampo, children, Naomi, Jocelyn, Aimee, Aileen, Leah, Jonathan and Paraluman; grandchildren, Marriann, Marigrace, Francis, Janelle, Eliana, William, Jeremiah, Gerlene, Mariele, Angelica, Elizabeth, Joseph, Peter, Kenneth and Kimberly; great-grandchild, Reign; Sibling, Sotero “Tory” Ocampo Jr.
Visitation will begin at 2:00pm-8:00pm with a vigil beginning at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary 267 E. Lewelling Blvd. San Lorenzo. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 10:30am on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church 264 E. Lewelling Blvd San Lorenzo. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 26320 Mission Blvd. Hayward.
