Jose Cosme Martinez entered peacefully into rest on April 25, 2019 at Alta Bates Summit Hospital in Oakland, California. He was 58 years old.

Born September 27, 1960 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico to parents Victor Manuel Martinez and Trinidad Reyes-Martinez, Jose graduated from VNAM de Culiacan. Following graduation from high school, Jose ran his own business as a general contractor for over 35 years. In his leisure time, Jose enjoyed traveling. He had a passion for going to Reno & Las Vegas, where he loved to play black jack and poker. He also enjoyed going to the movies and going for walks.

Jose is survived by his wife of 32 years, Odalys Toledo de Martinez; children Jennifer Martinez and Bismarck Martinez; grandchildren Nathalie G. Alcantar-Toledo and Mateo Cosme Alcantar-Toledo; and parents Victor Manuel Martinez and Trinidad Reyes-Martinez. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation for Jose will be held from 5:00-8:30 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA, with the Evening Rosary to begin at 6:30 PM.
