Jonathan Wayne Low

October 26, 1967 - August 20, 2016

Life Legacy

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jonathan Wayne Low on August 20, 2016.

Jon was the first of two sons born to Wayne and Barbara Low. He was a native Californian, born in Oakland on October 26, 1967. He graduated from Tennyson High School in Hayward, where he played football on the special teams for the Tennyson Lancers. He also attended Chabot College in Hayward. After graduation, Jon began his career with Alameda County Welfare Department and for the past fifteen years worked for AT&T. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed attending the games of the Oakland A’s, Raiders, 49ers, Warriors and the San Jose Sharks. He loved animals and was a volunteer at the Martinez Animal Shelter. He adopted two Chihuahuas, Charlie and Zoe and took in Pete, a stray who followed him home from a walk one day. He participated in the Big Brother program and was a mentor to Will Sanchez.

He is survived by his father and step-mother Wayne and Betty Low; his mother, Barbara Hall and step-father Gene Hosler, his brother Bryan; step daughters, Asha Hill and Imani Wilson whom he loved as his own. Uncles Lambert Low (Marlene), Norman Low, Hanson Low (Marcia), Robert Louie, Richard Chang of Las Vegas. Aunts; Ethel Christensen, Belle Lowe, Brenda Wong (Tommy) Sherolyn Tanabe (Tim) of Hawaii, Step brothers; Robert Hall (Stawny), James Hall (Carolina) and numerous cousins.

He will be missed by his former wife Capricia Wilson, his loving friend, companion and co-worker, Karen Kelly, his “little brother”, Will Sanchez and his beloved animals; Charlie, Zoe and Pete.

If you had one word to describe Jon, that would be “selfless”. The most dedicated son, brother friend or family member, you could ever find!
