Johnny Ray Camacho Guzman was born on July 16, 1993 to Frank Guzman and Elaine Camacho in Tamuning, Guam. He was the 2nd of 4 children; 1 older sister and 2 younger brothers. Frank, Elaine, Ria and Johnny Ray came to California in 1995 to make the Bay Area their permanent home.
On August 17, 2005 the family grew by two as they welcomed twin boys, Shawn and Shane Guzman. Johnny Ray loved his little brother tremendously. He and Shawn enjoyed playing video games and basketball together. He and Shane would always ‘roast’ each other and watch movies together. The 4 siblings enjoyed going to the beach, BBQ-ing at the house on their mom’s purple pit and visiting family in Southern California.
Johnny Ray attended Lorin Eden Elementary School, Ochoa Middle School and Mt. Eden High School where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. His dedication on and off the playing field, ambition, loyalty, generosity, protective nature, humor and selflessness distinguished him as a reliable friend and teammate to everyone he met.
On June 14, 2017 Johnny Ray’s life changed forever when his beloved daughter, Isabella “Belly” Rose Guzman, was born. Johnny Ray and Belly shared a special relationship as they’d go on play dates with friends, he’d read books to Belly until she fell asleep, and prank Belly’s uncles; Shawn and Shane. Johnny Ray did whatever he needed to do to make sure Belly was taken care of; even if that included taking her on his runs for work. He loved and cherished his babygirl as he’d say it’s ‘BellysWorld’.
April 6th, 2018 the family experienced tremendous heartbreak when the matriarch, their mom, Elaine Camacho, transitioned into her forever home in heaven. From that moment forward, Johnny Ray and Ria made a pact as a team to dedicate the rest of their lives making their mom proud by always working hard to provide and take care of their little brothers. They agreed that ‘we all we got’ when their mom passed.
On Saturday, January 11, 2020, Johnny Ray went to rest in his eternal home. His mom Elaine Camacho, Auntie Rosy Camacho, Auntie Rose Guzman, Auntie Linda San Nicolas, Uncle Jimmy Guzman, Uncle Pete Guzman and cousin Greg Ignacio preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his father Frank Guzman, his sister Maria Guzman of San Leandro, CA; his brothers Shawn and Shane Guzman of San Leandro, CA; daughter Isabella Guzman, step-daughter Emily Macias and a host of other relatives and friends.
