John Henry Thomas passed away peacefully on April 8, 2017 at his home in Hayward, California.

John was born on September 3, 2017 in Myrtlewood, Alabama to Polis and Josephine Thomas.  John had four sisters and one brother.  John served in the Air Force for 4 years.  During his four years of service John served in the Korean War.  John met and married the love of his life Kay Thomas.  They spent 45 years together and raised Brian and Gregory Freeman.  John worked as an Assembler for a car manufacture for 41 years.  In John’s free time he enjoyed gardening and cooking.  John’s biggest achievement in life was becoming a Minster and serving God.  When John was not taking care of his many responsibilities or working he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Latoya, Brian, Janey and Ashley.  He also loved and cherished his great-grandchildren Alex, Destiny, Andre, Damari, Brian III, Keisha, Arron Jr and Anthony.

Visitation for John will be Monday April 17, 2017 from 4pm-8pm, at Grissom’s Chapel & Mortuary 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, CA 94580.
