John Capapas Lopez entered peacefully into rest at his home, surrounded by his loving family in San Lorenzo, California on October 7, 2020. He was 83 years old. Born November 13, 1936 in Cebu, Philippines to parents Pablo Lopez and Genoveva "Bebang" Lopez.

John received his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering while attending Cebu Institute of Technology. His dedication to earn this degree paved the way when he moved to California, where he went to work for the City of San Francisco, as a Civil Engineer for 42 years.

John loved playing the piano and the ukulele in his spare time. He also earned his 3rd degree black belt in Judo.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Delilah Jalando-on Lopez; children, Ophelia, Aurora, John John , Jonathan and Lailani. Grandchildren, Genevieve, Alexis , Max, Brandon, Stefan, Nicholas, Maleia,  Jenna,  Makena, Marvin, Clarence, Desiree, Ace Anthony, Sharee, Eleanor Rose and Abby;

Siblings, Jun, Nicolas, Florinda, Roberta and Anaclito. 

Visitation will begin on Friday, October 16, 2020 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. A chapel service will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow immediately to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 26320 Mission Blvd. Hayward. , CA 94544
