Jesus Uriarte

September 17, 1927 – December 3, 2022 

Jesus Uriarte passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, in Fremont, California surrounded by her children. She was born in Sinaloa, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose E. Uriarte. She is survived by her children Ruben J. Uriarte, Berta Villalva and her husband Ernie, Concepcion Bedoya and husband Rudy, and Sylvia Muñoz and husband Sam. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 

Her grandchildren are Monica Beas, Rudy Jr. Bedoya, Alicia Contreras, Samuel Muñoz, Daniel Muñoz, David Muñoz, Angelica Suarez, and Joe Villalva.  

She and her husband settled in Oakland and later Hayward, California where she devoted her life to caring for her husband and her children. She worked seasonally at Del Monte Cannery in Oakland, California. 

She was a woman of many passions. First and foremost, she loved spending time with her family in her home, at picnics and barbeques. She was an excellent cook, and the delicious tamales she made every Christmas were legendary. She loved selling Avon products for 27 years. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, especially to her favorite banda music.  She loved tending to her beautiful rose garden that graced her home.  Going to the casinos and eating at buffets was her guilty pleasure. Her favorite tv show was “Caso Cerrado.”  

She was a truly loving and generous woman who always carried herself with dignity and respect for herself and others. Best known for her “heart of gold” Jesus Uriarte will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5:00 P.M-8:00 P.M with a vigil service at 6:30 P.M at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church located at 703 C Street Union City, CA 94587.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10:00 A.M at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
