Janet Vivian Anderson Minnick October 25, 1930 – August 3, 2016
Janet was born October 25, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of John & Sophie Anderson. Janet spent her early childhood years in New York theatre, flying back and forth to Los Angeles for auditions. She soon re-located to Los Angeles with her parents to pursue her acting, singing and dancing career. Janet attended Catholic School and John H. Frances Polytech High. She belonged to the Screen Children’s Guild in Hollywood, CA and was one of the original ‘Bathing Beauties’. She worked as an extra at MGM Studios in Culver City, CA and performed at the Hollywood Bowl as a stage actress. Janet was working part-time at Clifton’s Cafeteria in Los Angeles where she met her husband, Emery Millard Minnick. They married June 28, 1957. They had three children and bought a home in Garden Grove, CA in 1963. In 1975 Emery’s company transferred to North California. They bought a house in Union City where they raised their family. While their children were in their early teens, Janet was singing at different venues. She had a soft spot for animals and worked as a volunteer for local animal shelters. She and her husband liked taking trips to Carmel Valley, CA. They moved to Dublin, CA in 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband Emery Millard Minnick of fifty two years, who passed in 2010. She is survived by her children Steve, Debra, and Julie, her brother, Dan Anderson, grandchildren Jonathan and Alec, many cousins, second cousins, nieces and nephews.
On August 3, 2016 Janet went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and be reunited with the love of her life, Emery. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
