Janet “Jan” Ida Perez entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro, California on April 5, 2020. She was 87 years old.

Born February 10, 1933 in Oakland, California to parents Adele and Walter Hendrickson, Jan worked as a diabetic counselor for over 15 years. She loved cooking and baking.

Jan is survived by her husband of 68 years, Fernando Perez; children Adrianne Hofer, Dan Perez (Janet), and Monica Durkin (Brian); grandson Sean Durkin (Veronica); great grandson Christian Durkin; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Violet Hendrickson and Delores Morrison.

A memorial service for Janet will be planned once shelter in place regulations have been lifted. Any memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association (1-800-DIABETES or 1-800-342-2383).
